Seems we missed the release of the Official Monster Hunter 3G Tri G Guide book. The book came out on April 2nd in Japan, and is 1200 of Monster Hunter goodness.
Think of this as the Phone Book to Monster Hunter 3G.

Unikely to be translated but must admit that’s awesome!
I wonder if Grand Miraos and the rare species are included. They are missing in my data books. But I think I’ll wait until they release the iPhone app (which they will do for sure) and not waste another 12 Dollar + shipping.
I have always wanted a huge Monster Hunter book like this…looks like I need to learn Japanese now.
I just want to show something, I havent seen anything like this.

3G on Vita?! Is that what I’m seeing here?
I brought the artwork book a while back. This looks like the equivalent to an epic novel compared to a novella. Guessing this will take 20 years to be translated (19 years to be considered and a year or so to be actually translated). (By the way; I have no idea how long it takes to translate things.)
Wonder how good a game that was actually new would sell on PSV (not a G version, but an entirely new game). I.e. if MH4 wasn’t coming out for the 3DS. I have both, but I have to say it would be much better on the PSV if it uses all its features and graphical potential. We shall have to see what the future holds. MH is too big not to have a huge line up of new games on any platform Capcom so chooses to use.
Plus, if a new game comes out on PSV at least I can import it, not too bothered about it being released internationally if its for the PSV, as the 3DS is region locked so I think its dead in that department (at least, if I don’t buy a Jap 3DS). Moreover there isn’t really a lot of story, so you only really need to know Japanese for the items and monsters (all katakana as far as I know = no kanji (monster names I mean)).
Hopefully they do a new manga and anime series too (wishful thinking). I still want a Hatsune Miku/Monster Hunter rhythm game too lol. (Yes, I’m mad ^^).
Just think what games like MH would be like in 20 years. I’d say it has the potential to outlast two decades at least, if they keep it fresh and enjoyable.
Oops, apologies for the really long post.
any idea how much that book will cost or where to get it?
Play asia. Much cheaper than i was expecting. I’ll post the link later on if youd like.
http://www.play-asia.com/Monster_Hunter_3_Tri_G_Official_Hunters_Guide/paOS-13-71-lz-49-en-70-4j8v.html – that ones a 367 page book.
But this one:

is the 1199 page one above.
niiice..its not that bad really..if I got one it would be the 1199 page one..
I just got the book in the mail. Let me tell ya this thing is crazy awesome. 1200 pages of Monster Hunter goodness. It is missing info on 2 monsters though. Miraosu and Ala are missing but it has every other monster in it and everything about each monster from carve/reward percentages to damage charts. Tons of info on quests, weapons, armors, items, areas, game menus, lots of hunting tips, tons of pictures (most I’ve never seen before), and much more.
Here are some pictures I took of it:

Man that is a sweet looking book!
Actually at the moment I’m attempting to translate some of the stuff in here for the love of the hunt.
