In the Capcom Unity Forums yesterday another eager Monster Hunter fan came out asking if we will get Monster Hunter 3 (Tri) G localized.
I know some comments have been made recently regarding the series in general, but are there currently no plans for this game specifically to be localised?
Another user mentioned the ever popular “Wait for E3″.
Sven has hinted you’ll be hearing something about this in due course. It’s speculated 3G localization will be revealed at E3. We’ll see.
Then Christian Svensson (Capcom Corporate Officer/Senior Vice-President) stepped into the Thread and locked it after saying this.
Varin, have we said that? I think it’s fair to say I’ve said everything that I can on this topic without getting myself into trouble. Please be patient.
So my friends we are back to hanging off Capcom’s word that they have not left us out in the cold on this one. There may still be some hope of seeing Monster Hunter 3 (tri) G outside of Japan still.
Check out the full thread here.

Still be a lot better if the 3DS wasn’t region locked.
Personally I would rather wait and get a localized copy of the game. I still have stuff to complete in Tri on the wii, but once I am done that I will prob import Portable 3rd if they have not released another localized version.
There’s not really an awful lot you cant figure out in Japanese with a little practise. Only draw back for me is price of imported stuff.
what about monster hunter HD!!!??!?!!??!??!?! >:(
And they wonder why people hack portable 3rd for the psp….
Yeah cos western people will buy the game anyway, when they can download it for free. That’s the reason why they are put off localising most games imo.
Well I hope we will but in my opinion buying this 3DS for this game only will be a huge waste. It will be better if its on vita.
I have a Vita and I have a Japan 3DS with MH3G. I can honestly tell you, Monster Hunter is much better suited for the Vita. The 3DS screen is so tiny, it’s hard to play MH3G for more then about 2 hours without my eyes losing focus. It’s a little better with the CPP, but would be 10x better on the Vita. I love MH3G but unless Capcom adds server based online to it if they localize it, the game will not sell well. Nintendo doesn’t have an adhoc party like app, so the only way to play with friends would be sitting next to them. As good as MH3G is, it would be so much better on the Vita.
I think most people think the same to be honest. That and it will sell great. They have to make one, and its probably one of the only games I would preorder and import.
In other news, hasn’t turned up many places: There’s a new Phantasy Star coming out. Its an online game and is for the vita. Just thought, as its similar to MH, its good to know. and the graphics will be comparable to MH in at least one way (backdrops look cool). Suppose this game will be a good comparison like game, one that MH can compete against.
I think people need to chill. Yes there are quite a few of us that want this released in the US. I loved Monter Hunter Freedom 2 on PSP. But Capcom wants to make sure that when and if they release it in the US that it will sell the numbers that Nintendo Mario sells. If they released it right now on 3DS even with near by wireless it would sell well because it would be the first type of game on the 3DS out west. I know 5 of us here at work own 3DS and would buy it but they want kids to buy it not grown adults because like it or not that’s were the 3DS market is.
Valkyr I understand that people need to chill but at the same time it’s really silly to say that Capcom is only holding back from releasing this game because they will only sell it when it can sell numbers like Mario sells.
Mario games are on a different level in about every category, from difficulty and accessibility to fan base and recognition. If Capcom is waiting for this game to produce Mario like numbers in the States you might as well say we’ll never get the game.Especially since Capcom did not strike while the iron was hot from Tri’s release.
Also while I don’t have a 3DS or Vita, if they release a Monster Hunter stateside guaranteed I will buy one or even both of the systems for the games. I have always been dumbfounded by why Capcom refused to capitalize the strong sales of Monster Hunter Tri in the US (Didn’t they state that it was a success in this country?). To not capitalize on this all Capcom doing is hurting themselves, and every year that passes they don’t release a Monster Hunter that is fewer people waiting for them or getting frustrated and hacking their systems to play games they have no intention to release.
