A Capcom Employee (GregaMan) has posted on the Capcom Unity forums saying that we should not hold our breath for a Monster Hunter announcement in the west at E3. With many losing hope for another Monster Hunter release outside of Japan anytime soon, this does not give much hope.
Hang in there, guys. Unfortunately nothing’s been announced for the West and I can’t tell you to hold your breath for E3 either. But Monster Hunter’s not done in the West. It’s just going to take a little longer for something to hit our shores.
I know it’s been awhile since we’ve had a new MH game, but for what it’s worth, it ain’t cheap to keep those Tri servers running. Take that as a symbol of our ongoing stake in the franchise until we can get an actual game over here.
*UPDATE* Nintendo World Report has posted an article saying that Capcom will not have any playable releases of Monster Hunter at E3 this year, but does not rule out the announcement of a Monster Hunter game for the West. Lets hope Nintendo World Report is right and Gregman is just miss informed…

I know they are fighting for Monster Hunter localization for us but all this ‘future is bright’ and ‘wait and see’ crap is really wearing my patience thin. I’ve been really patient. Not thinking about it and checking on the news ever couple weeks only to find more of these articles. CAPCOM is really pissing me off. haha t(T-T)t

as long as theres a psv game announced for japan, im not bothered ill just import. But if theres no mh news in e3 at all (ie news on mh4) then i wont be happy. unless they show pso2 vids for the psv version. i woule say more about the other games, but i want games for psv
honestly, just bring MHTri to the other 2 consoles, then i would be happy, but if they decide to bring MHFrontier to the PS3/360 in the western areas, i will gladly throw countless amounts of dollars at capcom, i absolutely loved MH1, i just want them to realize that there is indeed a large Western population of MH Fanatics.
I honestly don’t know what the hell is wrong with Capcom’s higher-ups. Last time I checked, even though it might not be accurate anymore Monster Hunter held two places in the top 5 games in japan. Even better is that they held 3 places with the addition of MvC. I’m under the impression that Capcom isn’t confident that every god damn game they make is amazing (sarcastic.) I know i haven’t come across a bad Capcom game. Take your “stubborn underwear” off and let that sh*t breathe.
Sick and tired of hearing the bitching and moaning “oh, its a lot of work to ship a game west,” (paraphrase) NO IT ISN’T! It’s what you do to make money. Think how much money you’d have made if you never released any games in the west. Only receiving money from eastern countries is limiting your profits by sh*t tons. Remember how long CAPCOM kept the servers for MH and MH2 up? That’s them showing us love. So let’s not further ruin the spirit of the hunt because (in my opinion) MH3 is the driving force of MH in the west.

Sad…. This is japans version of COD. It was fun while it lasted.
Tri? To “Set” and easy. After alatreon, That’s it. And no I don’t want to do your not so unique event quests..Tri had its moment and was fun. You want to keep the servers up? Eh, understandable seeming how most players on there now are foreigners, aka U.K. etc. How are very….green and are just now playing the now 2year old game. Half of them hardly speak English. And the very few HR 450+ die hard players like my self, get kinda tired of it after awhile. Let’s move on shall we? I’m not saying shut downe the servers, but if you can come up with a monster hunter like Frontier. And have countless updates for it. And have many many Japanese players paying for the service to this day. Just think How much money the company would make bringing the title to the US. I don’t know what issues Capcom is going through but whatever that may be, I hope they can pull through.
After the easiness of Portable 3rd I haven’t got high hopes for future games in the series. However I wasn’t really expecting anything to be announced at E3. Capcom are terrible at keeping secrets so if something was coming we’d probably know by now.
I’m guessing Tokyo Game Show will be our best chance of some news about the future of franchise (though doubt it’ll be anything for the west)
I dont want them to shut down the servers..I’m low hr on monster hunter Tri..maybe 51 or so..I started playing offline.. finished everything and then moved to online..shortly after Portable 3rd came out in japan so I downloaded it and played untranslated for a few weeks till they had a basic translation out..I’ve finished everything on Portable 3rd..soloed everything in the game have all the best weapons and armor..it was quite easy compared to Unite and the earlier games..the further you go back in Monster Hunter games..the harder it is IMO.I guess thats them trying to make it more casual..anywho..now that Ive done everything on 3rd..I went back to Tri..still easy but its nice to play with someone …I dont really care what I hunt..I just want to hunt. So I will be getting a few games to pass the time until the next games shows up..probably Dragons Dogma..some classes in that feel very monster hunter-like
Im basically the same, ‘cept I was never able to play MH3 much.
I really don’t mean to troll or upset anyone, but those of us who bought MH3G don’t have to worry about losing our hunters spirit. MH3 has basically unlimited replay value so I am incredibly appreciative towards CAPCOM for keeping those up. The moment those servers go down, that’s the moment my life goes down.
You don’t have to shut down the MH3 servers, but do we really need support for 5000 players when there are at most 450 online? How about dropping some of them and stop wasting money.
Why am i not surprised, oh thats right because capcoms sole purpose in life is to sh*t on the glorious fanbase particularly in the us. whoo we get crappy resident evil game. whoo we get remake of marvel vs capcom. but the game we really want we dont get. lets face it capcoms just trying to piss us off and trying to make us hate the game because for whatever reason they dont want the gaijin to share in there epic games.

i am sooo freeeeeggiiin tired of capcom. they say it takes a ton of money to keep the tri servers running, but when i play the game, only the top 10 servers are being used not the other 50 that never get filled up??? just rip those out and use the money for 3g witch is actually a monsterhunter game. tri only had 5 melee weapon classes and 32 big monsters, 3h has 8, not to mention the bow, and 75 big monsters. tri is somewhat of a rip off that capcom decided to throw us.
I liked Tri a lot..I love the underwater fights..its funny to fight a monster on land for the FIRST time..and then it jumps into the water and whips your ass haha..thats what it was like when I fought the Royal Ludroth haha ” oh crap..his eyes are glowing”

And as far as the money thing goes for the servers..I dont think they are hurting for money and are deciding between keeping tri up and putting out a local MH..they just dont want to right now and that is all..has nothing to do with the servers..just enjoy it while it’s here. I remember being sad when they shut down MH 1 ps2 servers…now THAT was a game..being lvl 500 on Tri doesnt say youre a bad ass..it just says you play a lot. MH 1 makes TRI looks like a puss. ..Tri is soo easy compaired to MH1. I can solo EVERYTHING in MH Tri..in fact I would say the further you go back..the harder they get.
if they released a “ad-hoc party” app for the wii and allowed MH tri to use it they could save themselves however much they’re spending on keeping the servers up.
i’d rather spend 10 years making a clone thats better than monster hunter, than deal with waiting X amount of years because someone can’t make up their mind

You have to remember Tri was the first game in a new series. MHFU was the 3rd installment of a 3 year old series.

The game mechanics are already done. They only need to add monsters and quests. It’s not that hard.. All MH games have only changed the mechanics slightly from version to version. The big deal has always been new badder bosses and better equipment. they update Frontier every few years with new monsters and quests.. I believe it’s up to 120+ Monsters and over 300 Quests.. Why can’t they update Tri every year.. Add a monster or two.. and say 5 quests.. keep the game fresh and we’d still be playing it.
If Capcom’s so worried about the cost of localizing Tri G and mh4, why don’t they just make them available for download on the 3DS’s eshop? Starting this Christmas season, developers can begin to do that. I mean, that would cut the cost dramatically and make many of us happy at the same time!
Mh4 needs to be on ps3 cuz I like ps3 and ps3+mh3 = god mh4
1. They certainly don’t need a crap load of Tri servers.
2. Why did they ‘dumb’ down the game and then advertise it as a Hack and Slash Prior to Tri’s release?! Do they really think so little of us Americans that they don’t think they can release a REAL MH game with all it’s complexity??
3. For those Americans who are finding Tri fun, Sorry. But it’s small compared to all of Capcom’s other MH games AND it was made way to easy. Re-spawning resources, unlimited time, HR999 But you get to the Boss before HR 20. What’s the point after that? *GJ on hanging in there for 400 HR of useless repeating, I couldn’t do it.*
4. You release MH Frontier on ANY U.S Console and I’ll go buy it tomorrow!
5. What’s with the discrimination against Non-Asian? You not only have Japanese MH-F Servers but you LOCK Americans out with IP Blockers and SSN requirements.. You have Japanese Servers, If some Americans are willing to deal with the Lag of connecting to them AND willing to PAY the monthly fee, WHY WONT YOU LET US!
Suggestions:
1. Reduce Tri servers to half.
2. Open Japanese Servers to anyone willing to Pay to Play and willing to deal with lag due to connecting long distance! *I’d be there in a heart beat!*
3. If you don’t want to close Tri server or Open Frontier? Then UPDATE TRI Like you’ve been doing with Frontier! I’d return to Tri for new Monsters and more challenges..
4. Release MH-Frontier on US Xbox 360 or any other console you want. I’ve refused to buy a 360 due to XBox Policy but for Frontier I’ll buy anything!
Americans are NOT stupid so stop dumbing down the games! And let us connect to Frontier for those of us who WANT to play.
