Christian Svensson (Capcom US) issued a post today on the Capcom forums. It was in response to a fan asking “Why no Monster Hunter announcements at Comic-Con?”.
Svensson Responded with the following:
Ok, part one, I’m not aware of anyone from Capcom saying “wait for comic-con”. Perhaps fan speculation.
I will be more clear than I have ever been… Western MH fans should have some sort of information before the end of this calendar year. I can’t say more than that unfortuntaely though I would love to.
Now the post does not say they will announce a release by the end of the year, just that some information will come before the end of the year.
For some this might be the hope we need, for others.. This will just set the nerd rage in full gear.

So Sven has come out again and said, trust us, something is comming. Interesting, let’s hope it’s not a: “hey, we are porting portable 3rd (again), this time for the Vita”. Though it would be amazing to have a port of this game and localized, I do belive it’s time to know if we’re getting something new.

I wouldnt mind at all a PS VITA version of Portable 3rd, in fact Im so looking forward that one
Most monster hunter fans have already been playing through Portable 3rd though, so to us it wouldnt be new or great. And anyways you can get it on your vita right now. Just make a Hong Kong or Japanese PSN account and get a digital points card for the store and you can get it on your vita. thats what I did. Anyways I would love to see a port of MH4 to the vita. even if it isnt localized right away the vita has no region protection

My wishes would be (Western Release) MH3G on Wii/PS3 (yeah, I dream a bit to much), 3rdHD on PS3 or at least Frontier, so I could play with my friends. They aren’t a fan like me and would not buy a 3DS just for this… sad for them, they miss so much fun.

So we have decided that in 2013 we will release…. Informations to them on future possibilities of Monster Hunter we may bring to them. We know, we know we are to kind to the west….”
So anyways, if you all didn’t catch the important part of the comment, The west is not aloud to talk about MH and any information pertaining to US/EU Capcom and us is only permited to be announced from Capcom Japan its self….. Ummm, don’t know about you all but regarldless of us getting any information or not (Which I am glad for) that sounds a bit self centered and Narcissistic to me.
MH may not be as much populare here than in Japan, but we can still hope for something. I don’t know how great was the sellings of Dragon’s Dogma here, but it’s also a Capcom game and it is compared a lot to MH (A game where Dark Souls would have met MH). Maybe Capcom saw that that kind of RPGs still have value here…
I may be naive, but I still think that Capcom could really announce a MH here, new or an already released one.
I’ll tell you what their announcement will be…It will be that Capcom will not be releasing MH4 or any of the previous ones outside of Japan.
…As you can tell I’ve started to lose my patience. Too many times have I heard of announcements and hoped for the best and nothing happening.
I hope they finally announce that they bring a MH version for PS3 in US/EU. I’m waiting for it since the version on PS2. And I know that there are a lot of people in EU hoping the same

At least I have something to hope for. Maybe we will get something special.
You see the trick to not losing your patience with Capcom is you have to IMPORT, MHP3rd is an easy import and gave me well over 2000 hours. MH3G was a little harder, but overall worth it. You have to import games to get what the Japanese get and that provides good entertainment while we wait. The big turnoff for people when it comes to importing is the fact that the majority of them can’t read Japanese, neither can I, well I couldn’t then I learned as I went along and now I know a lot. Anyway people, IMPORTING IS GOOD, DO IT NOW.

I wasnt going to import until I found out the due date of MH4..I wanst going to import a system and game for 1 game…not at all
Do you know how much more it is to import a new 3DS LL? It’s not XL, don’t forget about the region lock peeps. I’ll try and wait for a while, if its possible. (^_^)
I’m so sure it will be something for a Nintendo-system. Likely 3DS. Monster Hunter 3G for America and Europe. I don’t believe anymore, that Capcom is bringing MH to PS360. I just can’t.
